Never really wanted the day to day strife
Always dreamed of another way of life
Sort of caught up in how longs a piece of string
Not really understanding what life would bring
Naivety of youth, guidance not great
Just took as gospel suggestions made
Now wished you had taken that step back in time
Could have prevented the anguish of crossing the line
Teenage dreams, fulfilment of youth
All caught on camera in a photograph booth
No route 66 or the American dream
A different road taken from Hollywood screens
Blonde haired assassin sent you a note
Hard to understand from the language she wrote
Translated the meaning at a later date
Like most things in life a minute too late
Came from the heavens a goddess of love
Nordic connections, was sent from above
A mission impossible, she took in her stride
No tight black leather or a bike to ride
Took control of you, held in the palm of her hand
Later told you words, let you understand
When morning broke and red skies appeared
Led you through the storm, didn’t disappear
With that smile opened all those doors
Didn’t need to sit down on dance hall floors
No longer dreaming of another way of life
Clarity in abundance, never a day of strife
