A great day out was had by all
Even though no-one got to the ball
Different generations of EDFC
Turned up at Sloans for all to see
From the looks of some, life has been hard
A bit less hair and some extra pounds of lard
But out of the mist and playing the jokers card
A voice gently called out – I’m the new bard
From the wee man at one end, big Stevie at the other
Is it conceivable they could have had the same Mother
For the land buying crew upon their return
Only one looks like they’ve rode into the sun
For the main man organising this type of event
The numbers appearing were just heaven sent
From those still playing and able to run
Was balanced out by King Kenny and our own sugar plumb
From Jambo Henry to the acres of space
Came a vast selection of the human race
Photographs were shown of a time in the past
We all went to Perth and continually had a blast
Food was eaten, alcohol consumed
Stories related encircled the room
Autographs signed by the legends who appeared
All out in the open and no-one disappeared
Several hours spent had to come to an end
Some though continued right round the bend
All who turned up had to agree
This was the best time old friends were to see
A decision was taken for an annual event
King Kenny the organiser agreed it was sound
So looking forward to next year in a town
When the shout will go up – let’s have another round
