Run

Inside the curtain woven by web
Life long thoughts run through your head
Always returning to the scene of the crime
Nothing has lessened through the passage of time

It’s hard to keep track of all you have done
To review the memories and actions in one
Easier now for our children to do
With all new technology, send pictures and view

It wasn’t your fault you were born in a time
Where inside closed curtains the scene of the crime
Society hid them away from the sun
You just wanted to run, run, run

Got through the first stage the wall wasn’t high
Climbed to a height, nowhere near the sky
Saw the space, the sand and the sun
And all you could do was run, run, run

Through the childhood of life developed that skill
Set yourself a target and went for the kill
Whilst others congregated and tried to be one
You just continued to run, run, run

You’ve always been running, it’s part of your life
Moved from the backstreets and undid the strife
Reaped life’s riches in money through time
No longer need to return to the scene of the crime

Face emblazoned on all you can see
Never a dull moment when you’re on tv
Will lightning strike twice, I can’t see
Run as fast as you can and do it for me
