Looking out from the backyard and what can I see
A sign of the cross rising from the ground, strangely a comfort for me
Right above the top of it sits a golden sun with no clouds for company
Eerily sound of silence, there’s no aircraft flying above the sea
Seeing things for the first time with no barriers blocking the view
What does the population think, how does it affect me and you
Leaving no stone un-turned as we fight this disease
Making sure this wonderful world is not brought to her knees
I’ve seen lots of life in all forms, shapes and sizes
Some people masquerading as politicians in very good disguises
Starting off with a vision to do all kinds of good
Several years later lost sight of the goal, now denying people food
Looking out from the upstairs window seeing yellow dots in the land
Once an army of pickers worked there, now down to a one man band
Those three bridges in the distance carrying people in their everyday life
Now carrying a different kind of person, key to us continuing to fight
Can still see the greenery around us, grass being cut all the time
Mother Nature’s in full bloom and improving, going to help us way down the line
For those preaching save the planet their dreams have all come as one
But how do you balance the benefits if economies and populations have gone
So where do we go to each night, what dreams encircling our head
Thankfully awakening in the morning but not rested from eight hours in bed
Creativity now seen in abundance, online used as never before
Will videos posted be remembered forever and recorded in our folklore
Strange how we’re all doing, things previously considered a chore
Considering our route through the streets walking like never before
Gardens manicured to perfection all looking to win the first prize
But give more than just a passing thought to those on the 50th floor of the high rise
We hear in time whatever that means, we’ll arrive at the new normal
Whenever our scientists and governors decide how much we can be absorbing
But until that time comes when united we will stand
Just think of that first kiss, cuddle and shake of the hand
