Life Changes

Walking back along those streets leading to home
Feel the fresh air in your lungs, now you’re not alone
Person walking by your side, hair blowing in the wind
Had a child was 23 with life about to begin

Taken from a place she loved and moved away from home
People speak so differently, with a long deep dulcet tone
Awakened in the morning by sound she loved to hear
Doors opening then closing, certainly held no fear

Life appeared so different, people and places to see
Thoughts appearing in their heads, destined to be
So completely different, priorities interchanged
Family or corporate, such an extensive range

Growing up away from home, new friends to be met
Adapting to surroundings, circumstances so inept
Places that they went to, comparing to the past
A lifetime change? but was it meant to last

Recreated life a million miles from home
Based themselves inside a thought, never heard a groan
Always seemed so positive, never a dull tone
But still, deep inside their hearts, it just wasn’t home

Heard the news together, life was to change
Another baby on the way, how could life be so deranged
Would they want to stay there, would they want to roam
All they really wanted was a place called home

Where did it take them, would it be so good
Another house to occupy, nobody could intrude
In their sense of happiness, the world was shut outside
Home is where the heart is, something you can’t hide
