N. Y. Morning

So once again back through to that wonderful dome
Been there so many times, beginning to feel like home
Funny seeing a band who’s name forms part of your arm
Musically and lyrically they spin a bloody good yarn

Named co-incidence is one thing that turns out all fine
Wouldn’t like to be without it, may be hard to dine
Enough of the physiology and let’s get back to the tones
Just enjoy the feeling and let go of the groans

This time awakening in a New York morning was different than before
Sat down and watched my musical friend before breakfasting on a lakeside shore
Went under the Hudson by railroad, ending up in a different state
God Bless America – it’s all just great

Passed through many towns, scenery changing all the time
From affluent communities to Hey Buddy can you spare a dime
I’m sure as I gazed out the window there was a horse with no name
Or was it the musical version, or am I going insane

Made it to Broadway, star turn in a diner
Whilst serving burgers, hoping someone would sign her
What kind of New York morning would she experience
Similar to mine but a little more serious

Into the evening, neon lights shining brightly
Commuters heading homeward all looking so sprightly
Others spending time in bars, laughing and joking
Will awaken to a very different N Y morning
