Feelings inside you erupting like a volcano
Sweat dripping from your forehead like rain bouncing off a window
Started heading downtown following the lights
To continue the party way into the night

Awoke to a summer breeze from nowhere hitting my face
Didn’t have a thought about it but it just fell into place
When I went round the corner for the first time I felt safe
Could be time to rest my feet and that tired old suitcase

 Took a trip down to south beach to feel the sand beneath my feet
Seemed to go on forever, but, hey I was kinda liking the heat
Saw smoke in the distance as far as the eye could see
When I finally arrived at the scene, so surreal, like the fire burning the sea

At first didn’t give it much thought until I heard the groans
Kinda got round a corner after walking over the hot stones
What I saw in front of me will forever be in my thoughts
Bodies strewn all over the place, most needing put in a box

Tried my best to give some help but seemed to be fighting against the tide
Came across some poor old souls who had obviously tried to hide
Cuddled up together looked as if they had passed away in peace
Just in the wrong place at the wrong time before the shooting ceased

So what do you do when an AK47 man arrives
He didn’t care about anyone, just had stars in his eyes
People in a playful mood enjoying the shimmering seas
Different thoughts inside their head to his, during that summer breeze

So thinking that we’ve found ourselves due to that summer breeze
Only works for a short time until the world starts to sneeze
Nobody anywhere can safely be in themselves
Unless we all hit like on social media, we just might have peace, but who can tell
