Nomadic Girl

Jet black hair hides a slightly awkward smile
nomadic girl, never settles for a while
full of tricks, life’s a big surprise
Sculptured cheek bones, face with sparkling eyes

Small town girl, with a world inside her head
Strict family upbringing, always early to bed
Full of dreams, so hard to keep inside
Broke the chord, rebelled and tried to change her life

Took a road with no directions set aside
Knew when she arrived, she would have to be a bride
Only way she knew to make her change her life
Spend a few years as a sort of loving, caring wife

Managed to get the T shirt with the minimum of fuss
Did a few years of smiling sweetly to the boss
Elevated position got her to a different place
Ditched the temporary husband with an eloquence of grace

Now in different circles, plans so cutely made
A different type of accent was the order of the day
No more toiling in the hidden parts of life
Now at the front, photographed in shining lights

Only in magazines will you see her face
Blacked out limos take her from place to place
Champagne lifestyle, acclimatised at will
No more shopping where you haver to use a till

Different life from where she started from
Different person from the place she once belonged
Different values from when she started out
Same awkward smile will always find her out
